Keenan Bartscher, LAc, has been practicing Eastern martial and spiritual arts since 1997. He attended Loyola University in New Orleans where he graduated cum laude with a major in philosophy and a minor in psychology. It was there that Keenan was first exposed to Eastern philosophy through the practice of Zen meditation and martial arts. As he began practicing martial arts, he noticed that the allergies, asthma and chronic bronchitis that had bothered him from a young age gradually disappeared, and he no longer needed to use an inhaler or other medications to control his symptoms. This realization began to sharpen his focus on the relationship of the body and the mind, as well as the pursuit of natural healing methods for the body’s ailments.

This new understanding brought Keenan to Portland where in 2002 he received a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Keenan has pursued advanced studies in Tuina massage and pain management, as well as continuing personal studies into the trauma and injury medicine that evolved from the martial arts.

Keenan’s passion for helping others and exploring natural alternatives in health care are driving forces in his practice and personal life. Keenan believes that integrated health care is the key to living a long and enjoyable life, and he works closely with your primary care physician to establish a healthcare plan that meets your needs and goals while maintaining the proper monitoring of current health issues. His goal is to help you find the freedom to live without chronic health problems and pain by using the safe and effective techniques of Chinese medicine.
